Smartphone, few years back, was a luxury and remotely affordable. With passage of time, smartphone has now become an essential commodity more than a luxury. A company, in India, has taken a new leap towards it - making smartphone affordable for 'everyone'. 

Local Indian smartphone manufacturer Ringing Bells 'with extensive support' from Indian government has launched a smartphone called 'Freedom 251'. From what we know so far, it will be priced at Rs. 251, making it the most affordable smartphone in the world. Yes! you read that right, Rs. 251.


If key specifications of the phone is to go by, it's sure to give goosebumps to every smartphone manufacturer in the world.

Ringing Bells made headlines earlier this month when it launched the Smart 101, a 4G capable smartphone at a price point of Rs. 2,999 (approximately $44). It sports a 5-inch display, a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded using a microSD card (32GB).
