How to Choose Best Mobile for You

December 16, 2011

Mobile - once a pride to have is now the most essential part of our life. If you are breathing, there lies a fair chance that you must be carrying a mobile. It is every kids dream to own one and every boyfriend's to throw one. On a serious note, with so many handsets, networks and tariffs on the market, choosing a new mobile phone is a massive task or is it really ?

Which brings me to the point, if we really know what we need out of our mobile then buying a mobile is less tougher. One thing that we all need to mirror our minds to is "WE CAN NOT GET ALL QUALITIES/FEATURES IN ONE MOBILE". The day we get used to this line, we will find our way to desired mobile quicker.

With mobile prices starting from INR 1000 to INR Thousands and stretching as far as INR Lacs there are plenty to choices. Also, daily updation of technology makes us think twice to buya mobile now or wait for a few weeks and then buy latest. It is said (from a boy's view - w.r.t mobile and girl) "had i waited a litlle longer, i would have got a better one" but thats about it. If we keep waiting, we shall keep waiting.

Now, lets look for few things which will help us in buying a right mobile for us.

1. Price

The most most important consideration for 90-95% of us is price. We need to freeze a price range ... say 10-12k. or 25-30k and then begin our search, it will make our task of finding the apt mobile a lot easier. It is more suited if we compare mobiles within their price segment and not out of it. We cant compare a color phone with 2MP camera to a high end Samsung, Nokia or Apple, will be sheer wastage of time and energy.

2. Text or Call

We all have our favorite and cheaper choice of communication, for some it could be all about SMS and for others it could be just Calls. Depending on the cheaper plan available at their network and their preferred choice to communicate. This leads us to choosing the mobile which matches our style of communicating for e.g. if you are a bulk textor then a QWERTY phone for you will be the best, touch phones might not be for you and if you are big time caller, your friends call you call center, you should check out for impressive battery back up of the phone you are opting for.

3.Techonlogy

As the day ends and next day rises, a new technology is itching to make way to market and finally, in our hands. What we got to look for is whats the best available technology in the price range freezed by us and zero in at it and technology doesn't limit to checking which OS phone supports - Android, Windows, Bada, Symbian etc but which processor (latest in the market is 1.4 Ghz), battery capacity (over 1000 mAh is considered good), latest features - bluetooth, wifi, 3G, Front camera, flash, doc reader etc etc

4. Purpose

One thing is for sure, you can not buy a right mobile for you unless you dont know what purpose it is to serve you. Mobile these days serve every purpose you can ask from a mobile but what is that one core purpose for which you will be using mobile. Is it Business? Gaming,Apps and Music? or just few calls and text and thats about it. For business users, mobiles offering EDGE, E-Mail Push service are the first things to look forward too, Blackberry are champions of this arena. For gaming, apps and music, a mobile that supports high grpahic resolution, good audio quality and well spread and known Operating system (OS) will seal the deal.

To go along with these four main check points, a phone's look is also very important esp when you are shelling out a high sum, do keep that in mind too. Happy mobile Hunting ! :)
